10 days to kickoff of the 2023 Florida HS football season as the Navarre Raiders will host the Catholic Crusaders on 25 Aug 2023 at the comfy confines of Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

The Raiders ran into a buzzsaw on this night and struggled to get the running game (28 carries, 93 yards) going against a very talented Eagles defense.
 
Hunter Pfeister and James Clark combined for 158 yards passing and three interceptions with Jadon Reese leading the receiving corps with three receptions for 54 yards. Eddie Love Jr registered 57 yards on 13 carries.
 
Chase Marsh led the Navarre defense with seven tackles and Kiohne Moso pitched in with six. The Raiders only touchdown on the night was an 80-yard kickoff return by Terence Marshall. Taylor Gardner added a 25-yard field goal in the loss.
 
10th win in program history – Navarre 49, Quincy Shanks 42 (2000)
 
This was the only meeting between these two teams. Quincy Shanks merged with Havana Northside High School to form East Gadsden High School in 2003. The building is now used as James A. Shanks Middle School.
