The Raiders (3-7) beat the Dolphins for the second straight year for the first time in the series. Navarre would go on to beat Gulf Breeze nine straight years before the streak would end in 2016.

Billy Mitchell would sign with the Marshall Thundering Herd; where he would be a 3-year starter at outside/inside linebacker. He attended Navarre as a freshman before his family moved to Oregon for two years (where he was All-State in Track and Field) after Hurricane Dennis hit the Florida Panhandle. But, he would return for his senior year.

Navarre was outscored in 2008 (271-141). The Class of 2009 was a part of Raider history (with two FHSAA playoff appearances).
