The Region title was at stake between two teams that had played one of the most exciting games of the 2018 regular season. In the first game, the Raiders came back from a 28-0 halftime deficit to win 41-35 in overtime. This game was building up to the billing through the first three quarters, that was until the Bulldogs ran off 28 straight points in the fourth quarter to win the Region.
 
Crestview’s RB Jay Stanton only rushed for 103 yards on 21 carries, but he made them count as five of them went to the end zone. Jaden Voisin had the other two touchdowns on passes from John Gillis.
 
Navarre’s Marlon Courtney III finished the night completing 9 of 18 passes for 185 yards and totaled two TDs (1 passing/1 rushing). Chris Williams provided the other rushing touchdown and Tyler England and Quinn Caballero hauled in a TD reception each.
 
Joshua Carter finished the game with 17 tackles and finished up his career as the all-time leading tackler in Raiders history with 334.5 tackle points (208 solo tackles/124 assisted/21 sacks/42 tackles for loss/11 caused fumbles/5 blocked kicks). Isaiah Heyward added seven tackles on the night.

Raiders defense and special teams were the difference in this game as they gave the offense the short field on numerous occasions. Carter led the way with 11 tackles and Isaiah Heyward added nine and a sack. Kevin Taich went 3-3 on field goals with a long of 37 yards.

The Raiders (2-0) went on the road and defeated the Jaguars in Week 2. WRs Chris Weaver and Kyle Irby were QB Austin Grimm’s primary targets in 2007. Kyle went on to play at Brevard College (NC) and Georgia State University (GA). Chris still holds the Navarre record for most receiving yards in a season (973), receptions in a season (67) and receptions in a game (13); all accomplished in 2007.
